BHOPAL: The skeletal remains of some infants were recovered from the backyard of the Mission Hospital at Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. The police have begun investigations and the human bones recovered from the hospital premises have been sent for medico-legal examination. The bones were found from an unused chamber in the Mission Hospital's backyard.
Questions remain
The Ratlam Superintendent of Police, S.K. Saxena, told The Hindu over telephone that it remains to be investigated whether or not the bones recovered from the hospital premises were linked to hospital deaths. If the hospital records do not tally with the bones recovered on Saturday, it would be a very serious matter, he said adding the method of disposing the dead was a grim reminder of the situation prevailing in the hospital.
