KANNUR: North Malabar Railway Users' Forum (NMRUF) general secretary and member of the Zonal Railway Users' Consultative Committee Natarajan said Railway authorities had assured, at a meeting in Chennai recently, that steps would be taken to route the newly-introduced Garib Rath train through the Konkan. Mr. Natarajan said in a release here on Saturday that Southern Railway General Manager Thomas Varghese had responded positively to the demand to sanction electrification of the Shornur-Mangalore sector and make the Kannur-Yashwanthpur Express a daily train.
