KANNUR: A national seminar on `Folklore and Malayalam literature' will begin at Krishna Menon Memorial Government College here on Monday. Vice-Principal C.K. Asoka Varma said at a press conference here on Saturday that the three-day seminar, being organised by the Malayalam Department of the college, would include demonstration classes. Scholars from South India would participate in the seminar, he said. The seminar would be inaugurated by Centre for Heritage Studies director general K.K.N. Kurup on the campus at 9.30 a.m. Monday. Kerala Folklore Academy secretary A.K. Nambiar would deliver the keynote address. Mr. Varma said the seminar would also include sessions on `Chavittu Natakam,' `Arabi Malayalam' script, Theyyam, poetry, folk theatre and folk culture and Yakshagana.
