BHUBANESWAR : Buoyed by an increase in freight-loading and passenger-carrying during the first 10 months of this fiscal, East Coast Railway (ECoR) earned a revenue of Rs 3,769.14 crore which was Rs. 556.25 crore more than the corresponding period of last financial year. The ECoR division loaded 68.24 million tonnes of freight registering an increase of 6.9 per cent and mopped up revenue of Rs 3,361.29 crore on this account marking 17.09 per cent more than the corresponding period of the last financial year. The division is utilising 12,140 wagons per day for loading.
More passengers too
On the passenger front, ECoR carried 42.59 million of passengers, which were 15.29 per cent more than the corresponding period of last financial year. The division also earned Rs.357.01 crore from passenger head. An ECoR release said the division earned a total revenue of Rs 3,769.14 crore from the first 10 months of the current financial year registering an increase of 17.3 per cent from the last financial year.
