More irrigation schemes planned

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has envisaged 97 irrigation schemes with the financial help of NABARD and efforts are on to get more irrigation projects sanctioned so that adequate water can be ensured to the agriculture sector, Irrigation Minister Ajay Singh Yadav said here on Saturday.

He disclosed that the Shergarh Gunha Link Channel in Kaithal district would be constructed to provide irrigation facilities to 11 villages in the region. The Rohtak-Makrauli Link Channel had also been approved.
