NEW DELHI: Making an impassioned plea to the media to project Jammu and Kashmir in the "right perspective", J&K Finance Minister Tariq Hamid Karra on Saturday said the people of India have a collective responsibility towards bringing peace and normalcy back to the State. Inaugurating a J&K Food and Culture Festival at the Press Club of India here, Mr. Karra asserted that the State was on the threshold of substantive development and moving towards peace, reconciliation and reconstruction. "The people of J&K are beginning to have trust and belief in the Indian democracy and we must capitalise on it," said Mr. Karra, pleading with the media not to blow out of proportion "isolated cases" of violence. "Much has been written about the negative aspects, try to project the positive aspects of Jammu and Kashmir also," said Mr. Karra. ``Mr. Karra also gave away mementos to five veteran journalists from the State who were felicitated by the PCI for their contribution to the field of journalism.
