dated February 19, 1957: Nandalal Bose honoured

Acharya Nandalal Bose, the eminent artist of Bengal, was conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Literature by Dr. Satyen Bose, Vice-Chancellor of Visvabharati University, on behalf of the Calcutta University, at a special ceremony held at Santiniketan on February 17. The degree was conferred on the Acharya by the Calcutta University in absentia on the occasion of its centenary celebrations.
