Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress has demanded action against the Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan under the Indian Arms Act. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee spokesman M.M. Hassan said that action should be taken against Mr. Vijayan under Section 20 of the Indian Arms Act. The section provided for arrest without warrant of a person found to be in possession of arms and ammunition. He said the Thiruvananthapuram Airport authorities' statement that they did not find bullets during security check and Mr. Vijayan's statement that it was forgetfulness were contradictory.
