JAIPUR: Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister Digambar Singh on Sunday said the State Government would appoint public health experts in all blocks for effective implementation of health care schemes in the rural areas. The initiative would underline the significance of an implicit connection between public health and development, said Dr. Singh while inaugurating a State-level convention of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine here. Dr. Singh said better management of public health had assumed significance in the desert State in the wake of a phenomenal expansion of the health care services.
Earlier decision
The network of health institutions managed by the State Government was fulfilling all needs of the rural populace in the remote areas, he added. The Minister pointed out that his department's earlier decision to send officers to look after public health in the villages had proved very successful and affirmed that the appointment of experts would turn public health into a "people's movement'', besides improving the quality of health care services.
