Chennai:
The growing interest among Indians in learning Japanese has strengthened bilateral ties between the two nations, Yoshiaki Kodaki, Consul-General of Japan, Chennai, said here on Saturday.
Mr. Kodaki presented prizes to winners of a Japanese speech contest conducted by the Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IJCCI) on Saturday. Students of Japanese from Chennai and Bangalore participated.
Prizes in the senior category went to S.K. Sangeetha (IJCCI), Anand V. Baraskar (IJCCI) and Shobana Chandu (NAVIS Nihongo Training Centre, Bangalore).
Junior category
The junior category prizes were bagged by Prema J. (Bangalore University), B. S. Sathyanarayanamurthy (Bangalore University) and Deepa Sundarajamoorthy (WIPRO).
