Newspaper bundles set on fire

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Bundles of a Tamil daily newspaper were burnt at Magadi Road tollgate on Sunday.

According to the police, eight newspaper bundles of "Dina Thanthi" were dropped at the tollgate by a van around 5 a.m.

The bundles containing 1,600 newspapers were meant for distribution in the surrounding areas, including Magadi Road, Vijayanagar and Kamakshipalya.

Bundles of other newspapers too are dropped at the same place for agents to pick up.

Before the newspaper agent concerned could collect the bundles, a few persons took away the bundles of "Dina Thanthi" and set them on fire.

However, no complaint has been filed in this regard with the police.
