NAMAKKAL: The district administration will soon establish an Ekalavya residential higher secondary school for tribal children at a cost of Rs. 1 crore, Collector G. Sundaramurthi has said. After handing over 150 free colour television sets to beneficiaries at Akkiyampatti village in Senthamangalam block near here recently, he said that the Union Government had already given its approval and allotted funds for the establishment of the school. The Revenue Divisional Officer and Adi Dravida welfare officer would inspect various places in the district and recommend a suitable site for the construction of the school. A total of 462 students could be accommodated in the school.
