ALAPPUZHA: The functioning of the Alappuzha District Court and the Haripad and Kayamkulam courts in the district was disrupted for a short period in the forenoon on Monday following a bomb threat. The police later found that the threat was false and the functioning of the courts resumed. The police said the Alappuzha police control room received a message around 9.20 a.m. that bombs were placed at the Alappuzha District Court and the courts at Kayamkulam and Haripad. Following the threat, the police evacuated people and officials from the courts. The dog squad and the bomb squad under the leadership of the Alappuzha Special Branch DySP began search operations at the Alappuzha District Court around 10 a.m. and it was found that the threat was false. The functioning of the district court resumed at around 12.20 p.m. The dog squad from Alappuzha later conducted search operation at the munsif and magistrate courts at Kayamkulam and Haripad. The search revealed that the threat was false. Functioning of the courts there resumed at around 3.30 p.m.
