BANGALORE: Suspecting her fidelity, a lorry driver allegedly strangled his wife to death at their house in Madivala police station limits on Sunday night. Police gave the name of the victim as Gowramma (37), an employee of a garment factory and a resident of Mangammanapalya. She married Venkatesh 11 years ago and the couple had two children. The couple had a row and Venkatesh allegedly strangled Gowramma around 10 p.m. The Madivala police have registered a case of murder and arrested Venkatesh.
Chain snatched
Two men on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 13,000 from Chowdeshwari in Ulsoor police station limits Sunday afternoon. Police said that around 1.30 p.m. the duo snatched the chain from Chowdeshwari, on Cambridge Road while she was taking her baby to hospital. The Ulsoor police have registered a case.
Hit-and-run
Janaki (50) of Vidyaranyapura was killed in a hit-and-run case reported from Adugodi traffic police station limits on Sunday night. The police said that around 10.30 p.m. a vehicle hit Janaki while she was walking on Hosur Lake Road. The Adugodi traffic police have registered a case and are looking for the vehicle.
Recovered
The Ulsoor police on Saturday arrested Lalitha (38) of Vibuthipura slum on charges of house break-in and theft and recovered from her gold and diamond ornaments and silver articles, together worth Rs. 1.75 lakh. She had reportedly burgled a house in Ulsoor police station limits, the police said.
