THRISSUR:
Industries Minister Elamaram Karim has said the Government plans to set up industrial promotion cells in all districts.
Addressing the valedictory function of an investor meet organised by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra) and the Department of Tourism here on Monday, the Minister said the industrial promotion cells would be located at the district Collectorates.
Each cell would have the District Collector and a representative each of the KSIDC, Kinfra and the District Industries Centre as members.
"Private entrepreneurs can henceforth approach the cell for completing official formalities. The cell will facilitate a single-window clearance system and also monitor and review projects that are cleared."
The Minister said the Government did not approve of providing land free to private entrepreneurs.
