TIRUPATI: Nehru Yuvak Kendra Sansthan will be actively involving the youth in the ambitious programme it has drawn up to commemorate the historic `Revolt of 1857'. According to R. Cheluvaraj, Zonal Director, NYKS, AP Zone, Hyderabad, the Samsthan, which has been entrusted with conducting programmes to commemorate the event, has chalked out a three-pronged plan covering village, cluster level and school level.
Workshop
Speaking at the regional workshop organised here on Monday for those implementing the programme, including district youth coordinators, NSS volunteers and Nehru Yuva Sathees, he said the objective was to remember martyrs and heroes of the freedom struggle and instil in the minds of the younger generation the spirit of patriotism, national pride, social integration, dedication and service to the nation. He said besides a mass rally with involving 50,000 youngsters from Meerut to Red Fort from May 6 to 8, a national convention for NSS volunteers and Yuva Sathees would be held on March 22 and 23. R. Natrajan, Regional Coordinator, NYKS, and Raja Reddy, professor of SVU, were present.
