TRADITIONAL FETE: Scenes from Machad Mamangam celebrated at Thiruvanikkavu in Wadakkancherry, near Thrissur, on Tuesday. Processions bearing huge models of horses (`Poykkuthira') are a unique feature of the Mamangam, one of the most colourful festiva ls of central Kerala. This year's festivities were led by the Punamparambu Desam. `Kuthiravaravu' ceremony witnessed dynamic participation by the Manalithara, Virupakkam and Karumatra Desams.
