Anju George bags javelin, shot put gold

Bangalore: Anju Bobby George, known for her exploits in long jump, struck a different note in the all-India Central Revenue Sports meet at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Tuesday.

Anju, representing South Zone, bagged two gold medals — one in javelin throw and another in shot put! Anju topped the javelin event with 32.14m and in shotput she did 10.85m on a day when South Zone dominated. Meanwhile, in the tennis section, South Zone's Peter Vijaya Kumar won the singles and doubles titles.
