Rupee posts further losses

MUMBAI: The rupee weakened further and closed at 44.1825/1875 a dollar, lower from Monday's close of 44.13/14 following sustained dollar buying from public sector banks amid slowdown in foreign institutional investment inflows.

In fairly active trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian unit continued to slide in line with yen's weakness against dollar in Asian trade during the day. The rupee failed to get any support at the current levels as yen weakened in Asian trade, a forex dealer said. — PTI
