Counselling session for B.Ed.

CHENNAI: The first counselling session for admission to B.Ed. through the distance mode of the Tamil Nadu Open University will be held on February 21 and 22 at Stella Matutina College of Education, Ashok Nagar.

Call letters have been sent to 494 candidates, says a release.

S.Mani, Director of Collegiate Education, Chennai, will inaugurate the session at 10 a.m. on February 21 and issue the admission cards and study materials.

Vice-Chancellor M.S.Palanisamy is also expected to participate.

In the forenoon of the first day, the cut-off mark for the general category is 74.75, 62.75 for the physically handicapped category and 68.75 for the ex-servicemen quota. In the afternoon beginning at 2 p.m., the cut-off is 69 for the Most Backward Community and the Denotified Community.

On February 22, the first session, beginning at 10 a.m., is for the Backward Community for whom the cut-off is 71.25. The afternoon sessions are meant for the Scheduled Castes (65.25) and the Scheduled Tribes (61.50). For details, candidates should dial 044-24894262/ 044-22353522/ 044-22300704 (Ext. 32).
