ADILABAD: T he Adilabad police have cracked a murder case in which insurance companies were to be defrauded. Three of the five accused persons Tarachand Choudhury, an advocate from Hyderabad, Putla Laxminarayan Goud and Loka Dilip Reddy of Nizamabad were produced at a press conference by Anil Kumar, SP, here on Tuesday. The SP said the advocate had insured the life of his 62-year-old clerk Thakur Narayan Singh with 10 different companies for a cumulative sum of Rs. 67 lakhs. The intention was to murder the clerk and claim the insured money by defrauding the companies. As per the plan hatched by the prime accused, Narayan was pushed into Kuntala waterfalls on November 30 last. The accused person made the death look like an accident. However, there were many loose ends in the case, which raised the hackles of an investigator with an insurance firm who approached the SP with a plea for reinvestigation. Boath CI Shanti Kumar took up the investigation.
