SP suspends D.K. Aruna

HYDERABAD: L one Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA from the State D.K. Aruna (Gadwal) has been suspended from the party.

She received the information on Tuesday from party leader Amar Singh who told her that the party viewed with seriousness her pro-Congress stand in Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Amar Singh also faxed a message to this effect to Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy.

The fact that she had become an associate member of the Congress amounted to anti-party activity and hence the decision to suspend her, he said.

Reacting to her suspension, she said: "I am happy to hear about the news. I have been associated with the Congress all these years and will continue to do so."

She said the TDP `encouraged' SP leaders to suspend her.
