Farook College maintains lead in university arts festival

KOZHIKODE: Farook College is maintaining the lead on the third day of the Calicut University inter-zone arts festival. At the end of the off-stage events at the Government Medical College here on Tuesday, Farook College had 62 points, well ahead of St. Joseph's College, Devagiri with 31 points. The Calicut University Campus had 28 points.

V. Mithran of Farook College won the Chithra Prathibha title, while P. Yoonus, also representing the same college, walked away with the Sarga Prathibha title.

Kalamandalam Raman Kutty Nair, renowned Kathakali artiste, inaugurated the on-stage events at a function in which V.K. Sreeraman, actor, was the chief guest.

Events today

On stage 1, Light music will begin at 10 a.m. to be followed by group song (Indian) at 12 noon, folk dance (men) at 2 p.m., folk dance (women) at 4 p.m., Oppana (women) at 6 p.m., group dance (women) at 8 p.m., and group dance (men) at 10 p.m.

Stage 2 will have Kolkali a 10 a.m., Daffu muttu a 12 noon, Mappila pattu at 2 p.m., Oppana (men) at 4 p.m., tableau at 6 p.m., and Malayalam drama at 7 p.m.
