KOLLAM: After a gap of 26 years, the annual Pooram-Uthram festival of the Uliyakovil Sri Durgabhagawathi Temple here will be held from February 24 to March 5. At a press conference here on Tuesday, temple committee president V.S. Nair and general convener R. Chandrababu said the festival could not be held for the past 26 years because of a litigation. The litigation behind the dispute over through a Supreme Court verdict, the festival has been revived. They said that all arrangements have been done to make the event a festival of the city. Cultural programmes will be held on all the days. The pongala ritual will be held at 5.30 a.m. on the final day. The `kettukazhcha' on that day will begin from the Kadappakkada Sri Dharma Sastha Temple at 4 p.m.
