NALGONDA: A jilted lover allegedly killed his girlfriend before attempting to end his life at Kommaigudem of Ramannapet mandal in Nalgonda district on Monday. According to police sources, Tandu Ramesh (23) wanted to marry his neighbour Aakiti Paarijatha (18) but the girl's parents disapproved of it. On coming to know that Paarijatha's parents had gone to a village in search of an alliance for her, Ramesh met her near a tank. He allegedly slit her throat with a knife after an argument. He reportedly attempted suicide by inflicting injuries on his stomach. Later he consumed a poisonous leaf and went to Ramannapet police station to confess to the police.
Hospitalised
The police immediately rushed Ramesh to the Government Hospital and later to Kamineni Hospitals at Narketpally as his condition was gradually deteriorating. Ramannepet Circle Inspector E. Sattenna told reporters that Ramesh would be arrested as soon as he was discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile, women organisations staged a dharna for an hour at Ramannapet demanding a stern action against Ramesh for murdering the girl.
