The election officer appointed 110 staff for counting and counting would take place in five halls. In each hall the first round of five wards would be counted on five separate tables, which would facilitate completing first round of 25 wards. Then the officials would take up second round of remaining 25 wards on five different tables. The Collector said that the final result was expected around noon.

In a statement on Tuesday SP B. Srinivasulu said that they had banned victory rally by the candidates after the results as it would create tension in the city. However, he said that those who wanted to take out rallies should obtain prior police permission, indicating route and time from DSP's office or through nearest police station. Sec. 144 was promulgated in the city to avoid congregation of people in large number.

The police deployed a large number of forces in and around the SKR Women's College from Tuesday evening and barricading was done in side the college premises. Rapid Action Force is also kept at disposal to face any eventuality.
