MSPL gets award for `employing fair business practices'

BELLARY: Narendra Kumar Baldota, chairman and managing director of the Hospet-based MSPL Ltd., was honoured with the Jamnalal Bajaj Uchit Vyavahar Puraskar by the Council for Fair Business Practices (CFBP), in Mumbai recently.

Keshub Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra and Mahindra, presented the award. The CFBP selected MSPL for believing and implementing fair business practices and for giving equal importance to all stakeholders, particularly employees, customers, and the community.

The council has instituted the Jamnalal Bajaj Uchit Vyavahar Puraskar to recognise and applaud the efforts of businessmen, business houses and business associations with an exemplary record of practising and promoting fair business methods. Each year the award is conferred on the most deserving applicants from manufacturing, trade and service enterprises as well as chambers of commerce trade who meet certain criteria. The evaluation parameters for selection for the prize include customer satisfaction, customer communication, employee motivation, supply chain mechanism, regulatory compliance, environment protection, social conscience, corporate social responsibility and adherence to code of conduct of CFBP.

Mr. Baldota is the 19th recipient of this award. Recipients of this award include: Dabur India Ltd., Glaxo India Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd. Cement Works, Infosys Technologies Ltd., Excel Industries Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Godavari Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd., Ajanta Pharma Ltd., and TELCO to name a few, a press release from MSPL Ltd. said.
