GUNTUR: Vinukonda Dal Millers' Association on Tuesday opened special counters at Vinukonda and other villages to sell four different kinds of pulses at a lower price compared to that prevailing in the open market. According to association office-bearers, each person would be given 2 kgs. of dal at Rs.6 to Rs.8 lesser price than existing prices. The per kg. prices notified by the association are as follows (with prevailing market prices in brackets): red gram Rs.28 (Rs.38), black gram Rs.44 (Rs.50); bengal gram Rs.28 (Rs.34); and green gram Rs.40 (Rs.50). Vinukonda Mandal Revenue Officer G. Atchuta Rao formally inaugurated the counter.
