An experience of a lifetime

Actor `TV' Varadarajan was elated after having met the country's First Citizen. That too with his whole troupe.

Mr. Varadarajan said the Delhi Tamil Sangam invited him for staging two plays on February 10 and 11. Before leaving, the actor wrote to President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, expressing his desire to meet him. The Rashtrapathi Bhavan responded by asking him to send the names of his troupe members. The actor and his team were there at the appointed time — 2.45 p.m. on February 12. "The President personally greeted each one of us," he said.

The President also took them for a tour of the famous Moghul Gardens.
