Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended on Thursday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for maintenance work in Royapettah II area including Hussain Ali Khan Street, Hussain Nagar, Sardar Jung Garden Street, Peters Road, Nair Iyya Pillai Street, Nair Varadha Pillai Street, Manicka Mastry Street, Mohammed Hussain Street, Mir Bakshi Street, JJ Khan Street, Irusappan Street.

Auction venue changed

The venue of auction of commercial shop site for Villivakkam, Mahakavi Bharathi Nagar, Madhavaram, Manali Phase I Scheme pertaining to Anna Nagar Division is changed to Plot No. C-48, III Floor, II Avenue, Anna Nagar (Old Employment Exchange Office), near Roundtanna, instead of the office of the executive engineer and administration officer, Anna Nagar Division, Tirumangalam.

Diabetes camp

Women's Welfare Association of Subbarayanagar, Kodambakkam, conducted a free camp for detecting diabetes at Nyanodhaya Aalayam, Kodambakkam, recently. The event was sponsored by Varalakshmi Mohan, president of the association. Around 175 members participated.

Rally on sanitation

The student trainees of the Department of Social Work, D.G. Vaishnav College, conducted a rally on sanitation and hygiene, in co-ordination with Karunalaya Social Service Society at Palagaithottikuppam near Ennore. The local residents and school children also took part.

Interactive workshop

Career Plan will organise an interactive workshop on Old vs. New GRE and strategies to maximise scores in a 60-day preparation. The workshop will be held on Sunday 10 a.m. at 34/8 Jumbulingam Street in Nungambakkam. For participation, call 4214 8494 or 2820 2287.

Urology camp

As part of Sri Ramachandra's Wellness Programme, a urology screening camp has been organised at concessional charges at the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, 22, Bawa Road, Alwarpet, till February 24 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Call 2498 4949 or 2466 2777.

Foundation day

The Chennai Region of the Oriental Bank of Commerce celebrated its foundation day at the Don Bosco School auditorium. G.R. Sundaravadival, Director of the Bank, K. Srinivas, Regional Head of the Chennai region, participated.

Sports meet

Mylapore Academy, State Bank of India and YMCA College Physical Education and Rotary Club of Madras (Mylapore Uptown) organised a sports meet for special children on February 17 at YMCA grounds in Nandanam.
