Staff Reporter
GUNTUR: Authorities of the Government General Hospital here on Tuesday decided to allow a maximum of only two persons per an in-patient. This move comes in the wake of several complaints of theft of hospital property and misbehaviour by hospital staff/patients. Hospital Superintendent Y. Rammohan Rao told reporters that this restriction was prevailing for a long time, but due to lack of security staff this was relaxed over last couple of years. Fifteen additional security personnel were recruited to man the hospital entry points, he said. People in an inebriated condition or with a lighted cigarette would not be allowed at any cost and those not having pass would be allowed only during general visiting hours between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. During the remaining time only one attendant would be allowed to stay along with the patient and passes would be given two in cases where it was essential, he said.
