Raw deal to twin cities: BJP MLA

Staff Reporter

Kishan Reddy flays budget

HYDERABAD : Himayathnagar MLA G. Kishan Reddy has said that the twin cities got a raw deal in the budget presented by the Government and sufficient funds were not allocated for flyovers and metro rail project.

Mr. Reddy said the city has been growing enormously with influx of migrants from various parts of the State in search of livelihood, but there is no plan to improve infrastructure accordingly or provide facilities like drinking water or electricity for the burgeoning population. Regarding the rising prices, the Government has only raided a few godowns , but nothing concrete has been done to bring them down. He said reduction of kerosene quota to white cardholders and not supplying LPG to them has created immense problems to the poor. He also opposed the Government's move to charge Rs. 125 for every flat stating that it reflected its commercial attitude. Former Deputy Mayor Subash Chanderji was also present.
