BANGALORE: Recovery agents of a private bank on Monday night reportedly barged into Renukaiah's house in Rajagopalanagar police station limits and attacked him with a sword for not paying the loan instalments. Renukaiah, who suffered severe head injuries, has been hospitalised. The police have registered an attempt to murder case and are on the lookout for the attackers. The police said Renukaiah, a resident of Rajiv Gandhinagar, had borrowed from a private bank for purchasing a goods autorickshaw. He had reportedly not paid the loan instalments for the past three months. The recovery agents of the bank came to Renukaiah's house on Monday evening to collect the dues. After heated exchanges, they left the place. But, four of them came back around midnight and hit Renukaiah on the head with a sword. They also assaulted his wife, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Malini Krishna Murthy told The Hindu .
Engineer assaulted
Two brothers allegedly assaulted an Assistant Engineer of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike who was supervising road asphalting work on PVR Road in Cottonpet police station limits, on Monday night.
Killed in accidents
Four women were killed in road accidents on Monday. Police said Honnamma (35) was killed after she was hit by a car in Nelamangala police station limits around 10.30 p.m. M.N. Revathi (27) died after a lorry rammed the motorcycle on which she was riding pillion near Central Silk Board junction. An unidentified pedestrian was injured after she was hit by a scooter in Jayanagar, around 9.15 a.m. The scooterist rushed her to NIMHANS where she died around 11.30 a.m. Sampigeamma (65), was knocked down by a motorcycle in Jayanagar traffic police station limits.
