Man attacked with sword

Loses leg as gangrene sets in

HYDERABAD: Doctors at Osmania Hospital had to amputate the right foot of a 32-year-old man, who was allegedly abducted and attacked with a sword by a gang of four on Monday night.

Raghunath, suffered a deep cut on his right ankle and doctors had to amputate it as gangrene had already set in. The assailant identified as Balaraju is already facing several criminal cases, the police said. The victim, a resident of Tilaknagar had gone to Talabkatta to call on his mother, when Balaraju and his associates forcibly took him to a graveyard in Kachiguda on Monday night. Police learnt that Balaraju and Raghunath had enmity over some personal matter. "All that he could say is they were asking about some persons he never knew," Kachiguda Inspector B. Venkataratnam said .
