Special grama sabha fails to take up no-confidence move

Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: The special meeting of the Moolakara grama sabha convened by the Kottukal panchayat on Tuesday passed off peacefully, with a section of the members backing down from the threat to move a no-confidence motion against ward member J. Dakshayani.

Panchayat president G. Sarika said only 12 of the 237 members who had raised the demand for a special grama sabha turned up for the meeting held at Thengavila temple grounds. But the members who had raised the banner of revolt said the meeting was hurriedly dispersed.
