Steps to check diversion of LPG cylinders

Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: The administration will take steps to ensure transparency in the stockage and distribution of cooking gas cylinders, District Collector N. Ayyappan said on Tuesday.

He was addressing an open forum at the Collectorate here. Stern action would be taken to check the diversion of domestic LPG cylinders for use in vehicles and large hotels, he said. He urged consumers to check the weight of the cylinders and ask for the bill while taking delivery.

The forum was informed that periodic raids were being conducted by the District Supply Officer to check the diversion of LPG cylinders.
