GUNTUR: TDP rebel candidate in Krishna-Guntur graduates' constituency Dasari Raja withdrew from the race on Wednesday following persuasion by district president Prathipati Pulla Rao. Former secretary of Telugu Yuvatha, `Raja master', as he is popularly known, announced the decision in the presence of Mr. Pulla Rao, former president Makineni Pedarathaiah and party-backed MLC candidate Chigurapati Vara Prasad. The verdict in Vizag, Rajahmundry and Hindupur was referendum on functioning of the government, he said.
