VELLORE: The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Estimates Committee will recommend to the Tamil Nadu Government to establish an Information Technology park in Vellore since it was ideally located between Chennai and Bangalore and considering the number of engineering colleges situated between Sriperumbudur and Vellore, K. Pichandi, Tiruvannamalai MLA and chairman of the committee, said here on Tuesday.Mr. Pichandi said that a Chinese expert committee, which visited Tamil Nadu recently, found Vellore to be an ideal location for the park. Several MLAs from Vellore district too had recommended its establishment to provide job opportunities to students graduating from engineering colleges in the northern districts. The Estimates Committee will also ask the State Government to allow the Ranipet municipality to construct a new bus stand on the Ranipet irrigation tank, which is not in use now. Asked whether it was advisable to construct a bus stand on a water body, Mr. Pichandi and C. Gnanasekharan, Vellore MLA and member of the Estimates Committee, said that it was possible to construct a bus stand in the tank after getting the classification of the tank changed into a revenue poromboke.
