Craze for FM radio proved fatal for him

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: A garment factory worker died on the spot when a train engine ran over him near Nayandahalli on Wednesday. The police gave the name of the victim as Narayanappa, a native of Channapatna.

According to the police, Narayanappa was walking on the new track, which has been laid for the track doubling of Bangalore-Mysore Railway line. As he had the earphone on to listen to the FM radio, he apparently could not hear the sound of an approaching train engine.
