Seminar for Health officials

Staff Reporter

Thiruvananthapuram: The State Government has decided to introduce Hepatitis B vaccination as part of routine immunisation in all 14 districts in the State.

This follows the decision by the Centre to include Hepatitis B vaccine, along with other six other mandatory vaccines, in the immunisation schedule of the Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP).

Kerala has, as a pilot project, already introduced Hepatitis B vaccine as part of UIP in three districts. A workshop is being held in this regard for Health Department officials on February 23 here.

Minister for Health P.K. Sreemathy will inaugurate the workshop.
