Corporate Olympics from March 7

Mumbai: Hockey star Viren Rasquinha said sport should be part of our lives and should not be seen merely as an extra-curricular activity.

Taking a day off from the Premier Hockey League in Chandigarh, Rasquinha joined Olympians M.M. Somaiya, Mervyn Fernandes and Adille Sumariwala to promote the first `Corporate Olympics', sponsored by the Aditya Birla Group and The Times of India, to be held here from March 7 to 17.

"We are not going to achieve anything blaming the government, sportspersons and the federations for the absence of sports culture in the country. The Corporate Olympics hopefully would help in its own way to create interest," said Sumariwala. — Special Correspondent
