Chandigarh: Chandigarh Dynamos chalked out a comfortable 2-0 victory over bottom-placed Hyderabad Sultans in the Premier Hockey League here on Thursday night. With the teams failing to show any competitive zeal, the match became a dull and drab affair. Hyderabad Sultans, currently last on the table with six points, has two more matches while Chandigarh Dynamos, after 10 matches, has 13. Both the teams are virtually out of contention for a place in the best-of-the-three final. Dynamos hoisted the lead in the 17th minute following an extended penalty corner at the end of the first quarter. Skipper Rajpal Singh injected the ball with accuracy and Irshad Ali set it up perfectly for drag-flick specialist Jugraj Singh who sent a powerful flick to the right corner of the goal. Indian star Prabjot Singh found his wonted form and made many dangerous moves. In the 35th minute, Dynamos made it 2-0 through a field goal. With Sultans playing a subdued game, Dynamos forwards Ravipal Singh and Rajpal Singh combined well and weaved patterns upfront but failed to provide finishing touches to many a move. PTI
