Anura Bandaranaike back in Cabinet

Colombo: Sri Lanka's ousted Cabinet Minister and brother of former President Chandrika Kumaratunga, Anura Bandaranaike, was reinstated on Thursday as Minister of National Heritage. Mr. Bandaranaike was sacked on February 9 by President Mahinda Rajapaksa as part of a clean-up of dissidents, but the two resolved differences, officials said. Meanwhile, Parliament session was interrupted as an Opposition group demanded a statement from the Government on the truce agreement with the Tamil Tiger rebels. — PTI, Xinhua
