World mother tongue day observed

Udhagamandalam: A world mother tongue day was observed in a manner befitting the occasion at the Cordite Factory at Aruvankadu near here on Wednesday.

Presiding over a function got up to commemorate the occasion, the General Manager of the Factory, O.P. Yadava, said that the global village concept has hastened the development process of many countries. It has strengthened their economies. Globalisation has made many relegate to an insignificant position their mother tongue.
