ADILABAD: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Thursday offered to withdraw its candidate from the election to Legislative Council from Adilabad Local Authorities' constituency provided Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy announced in Assembly the establishment of IIT at Basar. This is the second time the party has offered something of this kind, the first one being TDP spokesman S. Venugopalachary's offer to quit electoral politics if Congress MLAs from the district managed to get the IIT sanctioned at Basar.
Challenged
At a press conference here, Mr. Venugopalachary said the TDP is ready to sacrifice the MLC seat in the interest of development of the district. He challenged the Congress Government to demonstrate its claimed intention by shifting the IIT from Isnapur to Basar.
