Mass marriages performed as part of TTD event

Kakinada: As part of the free mass marriages programme, `Kalyanamastu', authorities of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams helped 10 couple enter wedlock at the TTD Kalyanamandapam here on Thursday. East Godavari Collector M. Subrahmanyam and Kakinada RDO Nageswera Rao attended as guests of honour.

TTD Divisional Engineer and district in-charge of the programme V. Muralidhara Rao said that the marriages were performed in `Abhijit lagnam' that comes once in 15 years.

Vizianagaram: In all, 107 of the 125 couples who registered themselves got married at the programme in Vizianagaram, Naguru, Salur, Bobbili, Nellimarla and Gajapathinagaram in the district. In Vizianagaram, 25 couples entered wedlock.
