HYDERABAD: A code-division multiple access (CDMA) telephone service provider, Tata Indicom, on Thursday announced provision of Internet facility to customers with its pre-paid Walky, enabling existing and new subscribers to experience hassle-free and fast net connectivity. Sanjeev Khera, Chief Operating Officer, Andhra Pradesh Circle, Tata Teleservices , said the rising computer penetration in urban and rural areas had led to a demand for Net access. "Over a pre-paid access, subscribers can control both their telephone and Internet usage". All it takes for subscribers to connect to the world-wide web, is have an Internet-enabled LG LSP 350 T Walky and data cable to connect the phone and the PC. The Walky has a built-in modem and is priced at Rs. 1,999 with Net access charges of Rs. 2 per megabyte. The data cable should be bought separately, while Tata Teleservices gives an installation software CD free with the cable, Mr. Khera said, in a press release.
