City not `rocking'

Will the likes of Roger Waters, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry ever perform live for the die-hard music buffs of Hyderabad or will they continue to woo their more traditional fan base in Mumbai and Bangalore.

Youngsters who grew up listening to Aerosmith, Pink Floyd and Bryan Adams are perplexed why Hyderabad does not attract top rock stars although the hype and hooplah always seems to be with Hyderabad.

The city attracts overseas writers though. The likes of William Dalrymple (White Mughals) and the recent Edward Luce's celebrated book `Inspite of Gods-The Strange Rise of Modern India'- describe and praise Hyderabad highly for its IT/BPO sector and relatively good roads.

But when it comes to rock stars, one seems to forget Hyderabad completely. Anybody listening?
