President's programme

CHENNAI : President A.P. J. Abdul Kalam will participate in three functions during his visit to Chennai on Friday. Arriving at the airport at 4-45 p.m, the President will drive down to the Madras Christian College for the convocation function. He will then go to Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet around 6 p.m. to inaugurate a conference on signal processing.

At 7.15 p.m he will participate at the annual convocation of the Women's Christian college in Nungambakkam. After spending the night at Raj Bhavan, he will leave for Coimbatore.

Motorists have been requested to avoid using G.S.T. Road, Anna Salai and other roads in the corridor during the movement of the Presidential convoy on Friday evening. A police press release issued here on Thursday suggested alternative roads for motorists to reach their destination.
