NEW DELHI: The Delhi police on Thursday filed the charge sheet in a city court here against a dismissed court clerk who had allegedly tampered, mutilated and removed several important documents from the Uphaar fire tragedy case file. The court has fixed February 24 as the date for taking cognisance of the charge sheet. In the 20-page charge sheet filed before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau, the police have not ruled out of the possibility of accused Dinesh Chand Sharma tampering with the court records at the behest of Sushil Ansal and Gopal Ansal, owners of Uphaar cinema hall. As per the charge sheet, investigations by the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi policerevealed that following his dismissal from court in 2004, Dinesh got a job with A Plus Security and Training Institute on Mehrauli-Badarpur Road at the behest of one P. P. Batra, a steno in the legal cell of Ansal Properties.
